BASIC BARBERING (1500 hours)
The Basic Barber program consists of 200 hours of theory and 1300 hours of practical services training. The theoretical is conducted in a classroom setting consisting of reading, lectures, and demonstrations. Topics include, but not limited to the following: The History of Barbering, General Sciences of Barbering, The Practice of Barbering, Advanced Services of Barbering, and Business Skills.
The practical training takes place in a separate clinic which offers the students the opportunity to apply those services taught in theory to the public with the utmost focus on health, safety and sanitation.
BARBER REFRESHER (250 hours)
The Barber Refresher program consists of 25 hours in theory and 225 hours in practical training and is primarily intended for students who have completed their education but have yet not passed the Nevada State Barber Board’s exam. Apprentice barbers or licensed barbers may also enroll in this program to enhance their skills and techniques on haircuts and shaves while adhering to proper safety and sanitation procedures.
BARBER INSTRUCTOR (600 hours)
The Barber Instructor program is a 600-hour program is designed to prepare licensed barbers in teaching the basic principles of theory and practice of Barbering. Other teaching topics included in this program may include class preparation, clinic floor supervision, the safety of clients/students, salon management/recordkeeping, professional ethics, effective communication, and human relation and payroll deductions.
COSMO CROSS-OVER (400 hours)
This Cosmo Cross-Over program is designed for licensed cosmetologists who want to advance their knowledge and skills in learning barbering techniques and services. This program consists of 50 hours in theory and 350 hours in practical training. Individuals who have a Hair Design license are not eligible for this program.
